House of Dance is a dance and performing arts studio based in Hobart, Tasmania. Established in 1999 by Michelle Williams (née Howell), the House of Dance has thrived for more than 20 years in praise of the local Tasmanian community, nationally and beyond.
HOD offers classes in jazz, tap, song and dance, lyrical, classical ballet, hip hop, acrobatics, musical theatre and singing. HOD is home to Tasmania's first ever Elite training group, designed to prepare students looking to pursue a career in performing arts with the tools to take the next step in their training. HOD is also home to the Tasmanian Youth Classical Ballet Company and the Angelina Ballerina program. With an ever-growing timetable and variety of classes, there truly is something for everyone at House of Dance.
Michelle and the HOD team are consistently recognised for their hard work and dedication to the growth and development of children, teenagers and young adults. Along with some of Australia's most highly acclaimed dance and performing arts training, HOD provides a safe space for their students to learn, grow, discover and transform into confident, able and driven people in all that they do.
My job is to provide the foundation of dance training that is so important and to give young people access to more. Performance, training, experience, confidence, opportunity. The exciting thing for me is working on new ways to do this; constantly reinvigorating to excite and inspire the students and families of HOD.
